Strip Quilt

A few months ago I got a strip quilt kit for really cheap.  I finally finished it thanks to craft night with a good friend.  The fabric isn't my favorite but I think it turned out cute anyway.   Now I just need to find a good back for it.  I ended up making each block into an 8 inch square, using 2 1/2 inch long strips of fabric.

Clock Refashion

We had a cool church activity a few weeks ago. Basically what happened is we brought a few decoration or other like items that we didn't want anymore (but they had to be in good condition still) and we swapped them with other items people brought that we we liked.  I got a really cool glass cake stand as well as this white porcelain clock.  At first glance it isn't my style but I liked that it was porcelain and I knew I could come up with something

Lucky for me the clock center part came out really easy. I was able to pop out the clock center.  I then sanded the entire surface a little bit to make it ruff so that the primer would be sure to stick good.  Then I used a spray paint primer on the entire surface.

After that was dry I painted it this cool teal color.  I also spray painted the metal ring black.  I think it turned out cute.

Stamp n' Stack

Stamp n' Stack is an addition to stamp club. It is an event that Joy puts on a few times a year, basically what happens is we get together on a Saturday morning and make a bunch of cards.  The cards are usually a little more simple than the cards we make at stamp club, so that we can crank out a bunch.  I made 10 cards, 2 of each design.  This was my first time participating in the stamp n' stack and I had a blast.  Joy actually hosted the event at her warehouse, so it was cool to see the  ourcraftlounge warehouse.

Fashion District: LA Style

A bunch of friends and I went up to LA to go to the fashion district.  I was so excited to go and it was a blast.  Here is the run down of what I got:

Yellow flats for  $5.99
2 hats both for : $4.00
Spool of lace: $1.00
Belt buckle: $.50
4 yards of ribbon: $1.00
2 yards striped knit: $2.00
2 yards printed cotton: $3.00

Total:   $17.50

It was a lot of fun to head up to LA for the day.  I need to start taking advantage of the things LA has to offer. We aren't here for very much longer and there are some cool spots up there.
